We have a modern, clean, renovated open-plan bungalow with 1800 square feet of living space. Renovated basement, full kitchen, office, indoor wood fireplace insert, large private back yard and patio with full sized trampoline, high speed internet, 50" LCD TV, custom lighting (including color-select bathroom lighting) CD, DVD, espresso machine, home gym, bicycles. Newly renovated guest room on the lower level. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom, a queen bed in the new guest room, and we also have a guest room with a double sized air mattress

Calgary is a world-class city. Situated near the Rocky Mountains in Canada, more than one thousand meters above the sea level, Calgary is a remarkable metropolitan city. There are two magnificent rivers flowing through this beautiful city - Bow and Elbow. The situation of the city in a region close to forests, mountains and rivers is only one of the reasons why air here is so fresh, and this is considered to be the cleanest city in the world.

Very close to transit and a 15-minute drive to downtown, our house is on the cul-de-sac of a peaceful, friendly neighborhood. It's a short walk to a 360 degree view of the city. Walking distance or a short drive to the clean, beautiful Bow River (world-class fishing and which you can float down or walk along - great pathways). We are 15 minutes from Calaway Park amusement park.

Calgary is a clean, metropolitan city in the midst of world class natural beauty and recreation. Calgary was just ranked as the 5th best city in the world to live in, and the world's cleanest city! Mercer's world's 1st-placed Eco-city for 2011, Calgary gets mountain fresh air from west winds that blow in from the Rockies (also known as a Chinook when they bring welcome warm winds in the colder winter months!). We get 2400 hours of sunlight per year, making us one of Canada's sunniest places. We typically get warm, sunny summers (some days get over 90 degrees f).

Famous for the Calgary Stampede every July (we are still available for Stampede 2013), Calgary also has rivers (Bow, Elbow), parks (Prince's Island, Bowness Park, Riley Park), shopping districts (17th ave, Kensington, Marda Loop, Stephen Ave, Inglewood, Cross Iron Mills), nightlife, restaurants, museums, zoo, golfing, summer festivals, skateboard park, fantastic Farmers markets (including one in the neighborhood during the summer), the world's most extensive pedestrian sky-walk system (downtown), horseback riding, ice skating, as well as our proximity to BANFF (1 hour), Canmore (a beautiful Rocky Mountain town 40 minutes away), Kananaskis Country, Lake Louise, Drumheller, Tyrell Dinosaur Museum and mountain lakes/hiking. You can spend summer days at the lake, fly-fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, mountain biking or hiking, or you can be downtown in a more metropolitan environment. With more than 550 km of pathways, we have the most extensive urban pathway system in North America, making it a great place to walk or bike.

In the winter (also a must-see during the summer) a scenic 2 hour drive will take you to world class ski & snowboarding destinations, including Lake Louise - where you can kayak and hike in the summer, Sunshine Village, Nakiska and Norquay. Also, Canada Olympic Park (the location of many events for the 1988 Olympics) is a smaller ski hill only a 15 minute drive from our house where you can try luge, bobsleigh, skiing and snowboard halfpipe, and in the summer - mountain biking, zip line, mini golf, wall climbing and Eurobungy. Nearby Bowness Park has a great outdoor park with a fire-pit and winter skating rink.

We have a friend who provides professionally guided trout fishing tours on the Bow River. If that is something you are interested in, we can arrange for a great deal as part of the exchange. Also, Connor has been an avid snowboarder for over 20 years, so he can give you any information about area skiing/snowboarding (summer activities as well) in great detail if requested. I am a real estate photographer and would be happy to photograph your home upon request as part of the exchange.

We just had a great exchange during the 100th anniversary of the Stampede this year but are still available for the Calgary Stampede 2013!

Flexible dates, hoping to stay for 1-3 weeks, but open to suggestions, we're flexible. Also looking to go to Hawaii in the winter of 2012/2013 for 1-3 weeks.

We are a young married Canadian couple (early 30s), both graduates of the University of Calgary - Connor is an E-learning developer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering who loves snowboarding (he goes almost every weekend in the winter), windsurfing and making music. Nadia was born in Calgary and is a photographer, she has a degree in Physiology and loves music and traveling. For us, nothing is better than great food, friends, movies, books, music, art, concerts, and of course, home exchanging :)

We have two sweet cats, Mia & Sula, that require very little attention. They spend most of their time outdoors in the summer (so no litter box to deal with). If you are leaving for a few days they are fine to stay alone. They are very sweet, lovely cats, and the right exchange partners will ideally love cats!

We have just returned home from our second home exchange, both of which were incredible, rewarding experiences. Our first was with a family of 3 from Seattle and our second was with a family of 6 from Montreal. Both exchanges were beyond wonderful. We are happy to supply toys if you have children.
